Kirsten McBride’s Story

I started this macro journey in February of 2017 because honestly I was fed up... fed up with the way I looked, fed up with eating a cupcake every single night (sometimes), fed up with how my clothes fit, and fed up with how I was performing in CrossFit... I knew I was capable of much more after I rehabbed from knee surgery, but to tell you the truth, I was just huge 🤷🏽‍♀️ I was carrying around 223 pounds in February...crazy right?

Stronger U Nutrition, its founder, Mike, and my personal coach Jason pretty much gave me my life back, eating WHATEVER I want, as long as it fits my macros.... budgeting my macros kinda carried over to budgeting my money (ok I'm lying)... I'm a much better budgeter of my food lol.

I feel better, I sleep better, my knees ache less often, my performance is SO MUCH better, my clothes are falling off, but mostly this lifestyle change helped me in sooo many areas of my life including learning that no food is bad... our bodies can't recognize if carbs are coming from a banana or cereal... if fat is coming from bacon or peanut butter...or if protein is coming from chicken or a protein bar.. It is all about the amounts of carbs, fats, and proteins we consume. I fell into what most fall into, eating 'clean' or what I thought was clean during the week,  and having a full cheat weekend thinking I 'earned' the disaster I was treating myself to... with this program a cheat meal, day, or weekend isn't needed.. if you're craving something? Make it fit...

At my leanest, I was 179, and I'm maintaining a super lean 185 ish right now (shhh I'm 5'11'), 40 pounds gone, and muscles popping out of everywhere.

I'm ending week 45 with Stronger U, and I plan to keep working with my coach, Jason for the long haul to see what my body is capable of...  AKA, packing on lean muscle, then cutting again...

Not only is this program a 'nutrition program,' my coach listens, he tries to understand my goals, and we plan together with how we go forward, honestly he's become my friend, a friend I've never met in person, but would trust him with my life lol...

No pills, no shakes, no waist trainers, no easy fixes... the saying is sooo true, you can't out exercise a bad diet....consistency and hard work yal....

And the hard work part is supported by my coaches at U Can Crossfit. None of them allow me slack any day i step foot in there which is totally what i need cause I will slack if left to my own devices, but I’ve never been at a gym that the owners and coaches genuinely care about their clients’ wellbeing inside and outside of the gym.... even with my many side-eyes and occasional gripe under my breath, U Can Crossfit is the place I want to be and I wouldn’t want to be coached by any other group of coaches than those there... the camaraderie, community and daily challenge is like no other.
